Goddess
Down in the valley where the marshes lie
Whispers abound it's solstice night
Mist rises slowly from standing stones
An oak tree glows from candles below
The painted shadows moved to the left
The goddess threw the moon at me
Touches my brow like a swallows breath
A lantern show appears...
Night owl cries, shadowed moon above
Ancient rites are followed, the chanting has begun
The harper plays the strings, the forest gently sighs
Many eyes watching from the shadows of the night
Shivers up my back, beating drums
Coloured masks, weaving skeletons
Smoke in my eyes, a mist appears
Goddess holds the crystal, brush away a tear
Even in my tired sleep this vision still appears
Though I pinch myself, it's where I want to be.

Baladorn
She sits upon her throne of rushes by the swirling
foam
Her jesters sit at either hand so she is not alone
Her gown is made of darkness stitched, by her kind long ago
She is called Black Angel, she comes from Baladorn
She is cold as the North wind, her power is known
far and wide
The elves, dwarves and the mortal folk, all fear if she passes by
No one tries to understand, some stay cold to survive
Behind her gown of darkness, an angel full of light
Minstrels sing quietly in corners, children play games
with strings of beads
The elders sit amongst their tables, exchanging memories of heros and
their deeds
The queen is deep in contemplation, yet she looks upon her subjects with
a smile
She is proud of these, her people, and their legends handed down in time
Lark's cry cuts the stillness, bringing tidings of
the coming day
She gathers her court around her, they are silent wishing to obey
Now, the sun is rising, light hits her face and she frowns
Again they make their journey, to the land called Baladorn

Candle Dance/ In That Silence
Blanketed by golden leaves, forest heralds
coming winter
Gliding without footprints she, moves amongst them
The sun with shame will hide behind its weeping skies
She fears not, this lady of the house.
He who shouts at thunder bold will be his calling
Whisper words, they are the sharper swords
In answer forest shudders once, golden leaves swirl upwards
Our lady untouched by autumn’s boldness
In that silence the meadow moans
She calls awake! Awake!
A swallow flies at midnight
Flies at midnight
Still she glides amongst these forest leaves
Lengthened shadows touching
Mushrooms, do they come with wisdom?
My whistle clear and strong
Old oak reaches out to hold me
Fear not, this lady of the house

Forest of Stone
I sure wish I had a boat
Do you think that you can float?
If I sail around the world
Will you come with me?
Can you climb a mountain high?
Stretch your arms to touch the sky,
If I make a snowman cry
Will you come with me?
And I'll touch your heart once
Then I'll lead you through the forest of stone
And I'll open the door
Then I'll lead you through the forest of stone
Maybe climb a pyramid
Play my flute there if I could
All these things they cost a quid
Will you come with me?
If I find a pirate map
Would you dig for golden scrap?
If I'm rich beyond your dreams
Will you come with me?
If I find the crystal caves
Where Arthur sleeps and Merlin waits
If I give these dreams to you
Will you come with me?
I sure wish I had a boat
Do you think that you can float?
If I sail around the world
Will you come with me?

Tamsin's Sword
A shadow fell onto the land, an evil to behold
The highland folk who tilled the soil were helpless in their fear
Behind closed doors they whispered tales, their eyes were filled with
tears
A moment froze with just a knock; the wooden door crept wide
It is Gillies Sherlaw cried the folk, the old man stood and sighed
From underneath his sunken brow his eyes shone bright and clear
Said he “ Let’s call on ancient help” and their interest
drew them near
He laid a tartan covered pack upon the weathered hearth
And drew from it a sword of old inscribed with runes of sort
A gasp went up from all the folk, “ That’s Tamsin’s
sword said some”
The legend of the highland lass was known to everyone
Then Gillies said “ Repeat with me, these words of legend old”
And to a man they followed him, their faith in him was sold
An hour passed in fleeting glance, the room was dark and still
When Tamsin’s sword spoke to them, they knew their wish was filled
The battle outside raged til dawn, dark forces lost the fight
And to this day, the legend stands; her banner flies at night
And Gillies Sherlaw still walks the moors with his tartan covered pack
If something wicked this way comes; he will call her back

The Havens
We are sailing on a wine dark sea to reach the havens
Where the hail falls in our open eyes, what a noble thing to do
Beggar and the liar cross two bridges over emerald stones
People of the shadow moons make the trees bow silently
Blindman lights a candle in the pouring rain, the weasel smiles
Wanders lonely as a child when
Sea birds sing the song
Don't you walk without purpose?
Don't you talk without purpose?
Don't you sing without purpose?
Don't you cry, don’t you cry?
Tears that follow the shortest night
Are the dreams that rest on our ruby shores
Fills our sails with a peaceful sigh
As the havens call us home
